SECOND NAME strikes on debut under James Doyle, and EAVESTONE gets her career off the mark at Southwell.

SECOND NAME gets his career off the mark at the first attempt over 6f, quickening smartly under James Doyle to pull away for a 1½l victory under the Wolverhampton floodlights. The three-year-old gelding is an Exceed And Excel half-brother to the Varian Stable-trained G2 Mill Reef winner Sakheer, also owned by connections KHK Racing.

Congratulations to connections.

Three-year-old Cheveley Park Stud homebred EAVESTONE has hit the frame on all three of her previous racecourse starts, but we were delighted to see her in the winners enclosure this evening at Southwell. Stepping up to 1m4f, the daughter of Lope De Vega led early on before settling to race prominently. As they rounded the home bend, Eavestone was switched left and cruised into the lead under Silvestre de Sousa, staying on well for a comfortable victory.

Congratulations to connections Cheveley Park Stud.
