CHARYN shows class in abundance, to cement his status as Europe's Champion miler in the G1 QEII at Ascot Champions Day.

CHARYN has been a standout star for the yard this season. He made it a Royal Ascot to remember with a scintillating victory in the Queen Anne, and later this summer added a second G1 to his tally in the Prix Jacques le Marois. The four-year-old grey faced testing ground at Ascot today, but yet again showcased every ounce of class and determination that has set him apart this season, pulling away from challenger Facteur Cheval in the final furlong to win by 2L.

Jockey Silvestre de Sousa said: “It was a thrill and from fast ground to bottomless ground, he has just shown he is a true champion who deserves to be here on a day like this. He saw the French horse off and he is a dream horse. I always thought I would find one one day and he has been great.”

Roger Varian said: “He’s a super horse and that was fantastic.

"Everything went very smooth and it was a lovely race to watch... he’s just got everything that horse, he’s very special.

“He’s just straightforward and I promise you, he has the most amazing constitution. Every time I have run him I have always thought he was too heavy as he holds his condition so well. He’s a wonderful horse, touch wood he’s been very sound and he loves his work and loves his racing. He’s got such a good mentality for the game and the engine to go with it.

“His constitution is really like no other, he takes everything so well and doesn’t waste any energy at home. He may have had a long year, but he doesn’t stress about life at home. He doesn’t waste any energy doing barnstorming pieces of work and he’s super cool – almost to the point you think ‘come on mate!’.

“With a horse like this, he is very special to us and he’s done an awful lot for us. You get special horses and they are all special in their own way, but this one is special with an engine.

"He's the finished article now. He's fully developed and he's absolutely at his peak. I'm delighted for his owner Nurlan Bizakov and our team."

Huge congratulations to Mr Bizakov, and the team at Sumbe.
