A cross-country double on the day for Varian Stable, with CHARYN posting a career best to land the G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte at Chantilly and PRAIANO running out a resounding wide margin winner at York!
Tattersalls October Book 2 buy CHARYN, last seen coming third to stablemate SAKHEER in the G2 Mill Reef Stakes, posted a career best today to progress to G2 success in the 6f Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte at Chantilly.
The DARK ANGEL juvenile was a touch slow into stride but soon gathered composure to race prominently under Mickael Barzalona. 1f from home and it was the battle of the greys, as CHARYN came to challenge Archie Watson’s EDDIE’S BOY for the lead, asserting in the final strides to win by a short neck.
Congratulations to owner Nurlan Bizakov.
The @varianstable team strikes at @fgchantilly! Charyn and @mickaelbarzalon are just too strong for Eddie's Boy and @HollieDoyle1 to take the G2 Criterium De Maisons-Laffitte... pic.twitter.com/Gzn9VgQXFd

PRAIANO bolts up in first-time cheekpieces to land the Stayers Handicap at York Racecourse.
Racing prominently in the chasing group, the Dubawi four-year-old proceeded to make smooth headway 3f from home, before lighting the gas in the final furlong to surge on for an impressive 6L victory.
Congratulations to owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
That's not how a 10/1 chance should win!
