JACKKNIFE gets his career off to the perfect start, with an eye-catching debut victory at Epsom, and TEROOMM makes it a double on the day, seeing off a challenge at Thirsk to make it two on the bounce.

The striking three-year-old son of Kameko travelled sweetly under the ride of Oisin Murphy, settled in midfield on the outer of the 9-strong field. 2f from home they began to make smooth headway, coming out on top in a tussle to the line with Haggas' The King's Falcon, to claim the 1m½f Novice contest by a neck.

A lovely debut from an exciting young horse - he is certainly bred to be smart, being a half-brother to the 2019 Varian-trained Coronation Cup winner Defoe.

Congratulations to connections Qatar Racing!

At Thirsk, TEROOMM took his record to 2/3, seeing off a challenge from Parole D'Oro in the closing stages to take the victory in the hands of Silvestre de Sousa. The three-year-old Iffraaj colt was last seen winning on just his second start at Bath earlier this month and we were delighted to see him back in the winners enclosure this afternoon. Breaking from stall 2, he soon took up position on the rail and settled nicely to make the running. 2f from home Michael Bell's Parole D'Oro moved upsides to join him with the pair drawing clear of the rest, but TEROOMM dug deep in pleasing fashion to come out on top.

Congratulations to Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum.
