La Tihaty went one better than on debut a fortnight ago to win over course and distance under the in form Jack Mitchell.
He made his first racecourse appearance just before Christmas where he overcame signs of greenness to finish second to Darwell Lion and ahead of the odds on favourite Campeao. He clearly learned plenty for that experience as he bounced out of the stalls this time around to gain a length on his rivals from the gates.
He tracked his more experienced rival, Melody Of Life, through the early stages and was always travelling very sweetly under Jack Mitchell. They had the field fairly strung out in behind as they rounded the home bend and at this stage Jack asked La Tihaty to kick for home. The response was immediate and La Tihaty took up the running from the crown of the bend, soon putting lengths between him and his nearest pursuers, Melody Of Life and Escapement who was making her debut.
By the first season sire New Bay, La Tihaty is the first foal out of his dam who won over 1m3f in France. She is also a half-sister to a 10.5f Listed winner, so it would be no surprise to see this colt stay further as the season progresses.
