Normal Equlibrium was sent off the 11/10 favourite on his racecourse debut and obliged under Harry Bentley in taking fashion.
As he was drawn in stall two, he was forced to travel wide without cover, but despite showing greeness he emerged on top by half a length over the more experienced Royal Aspiration.
Roger said: "We are delighted with that as he overcame a poor draw and has done it nicely. We shall look for a novice or conditions race for him now."
Earlier in the afternoon, Cameron Highland ran a very creditable race in defeat, finishing second to Michelangelo in the £150,000 Tattersalls Milllions 3Y0 Cup.
