ORCHARD KEEPER surges clear of her rivals to register a first career success at Newmarket’s July course.

Twice-placed on the AW earlier this year, the three-year-old daughter of Churchill enjoyed a switch to turf this afternoon to go one better than her AW performances and get her career off the mark. Racing fourth of the five runners, she picked up nicely under Jack Mitchell when space came 2f from home, challenging for the lead at the furlong pole and running on for a comfortable 1.5L victory.
