QARLYGA sheds her maiden tag at the second time of asking.

QARLYGA made her racecourse debut at a rain-softened Newmarket last month, but a switch to the AW for her second start proved the ticket to getting her career off the mark this afternoon at Newcastle. Racing towards the rear of the field, Jack Mitchell had to switch out from behind a wall of horses but Qarlyga quickened away nicely to win with plenty in hand.

The two-year-old filly is a Sumbe homebred by GOLDEN HORDE. Congratulations to owner/breeder Mr Nurlan Bizakov.
