The daughter of Street Cry is bred in the purple being out of Oaks winner Eswarah and a half-sister to Group 1 performer Firdaws.

A lovely big filly, Qawaafy has been progressive in maidens and should hopefully gain confidence from this first victory.

She was always in a handy position under Paul Hanagan and swept by her rivals up the straight to beat the front-running Visit Copenhagen to win by a length and a half.

Roger said: "It is important to win with a filly like her. She is out of the yard's Oaks winner Eswarah so it's great to get her head in front."
