The lightly raced ROYAL CHAMPION put in a decisive performance to score impressively in the CAZOO HANDICAP at Epsom this afternoon.

A fitting day for ROYAL CHAMPION to show his promise, during the Platinum Jubilee and Cazoo Derby meeting. Patience paid off for this horse as, clearly having benefitted from the gelding op, he ran smoothly from the off. Piloted with the inform Andrea Atzeni who settled ROYAL CHAMPION in mid field behind the leaders, poised in a strong position along the inside rail. In the closing stages Atezeni made his move, ROYAL CHAMPION weaved his way through to hit the front when it mattered, keeping on until the line to land the spoils.
