Sammarr passed nearly the entire field to post a winning debut at Lingfield on Monday.

Sent off 6/1, this daughter of Golden Horn showed signs of greenness in the early stages of the contest as she was pushed along towards the rear of the field by jockey Jack Mitchell.

She swung wide into the final bend as she began to make headway and it was only when she straightened up for home that she started to really motor. John Gosden's Vital Force stayed on strongly inside the final two furlongs, but she was no match for Sammarr who swept passed and won going away in the end.

Sammarr is the second foal out of Ta Ammol who is an unraced half-sister to the dual UAE Group 1 winner Sajjhaa. Her first foal, Waleydd, also won on the all-weather and was placed twice in just three starts for Varian Stable.
