Mushir lost nothing in defeat when a head second to 2000 Guineas-bound Shifting Power in the Free Handicap. The Oasis Dream colt looked a little unbalanced on Newmarket's undulations but stuck his neck out and ran gamely to the line.

The line didn't come in time for Toofi who finished with a late rattle to be narrowly denied in the in the £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Sprint. 

Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar's colt showed a sharp turn of foot and looked an unlucky loser when flying home up the hill. He was beaten just under a length.

Roger said: "I am pleased with the performances of both horses. They both ran to the line and showed that they had trained on. We can look forward to a good year with them now."

We were also pleased woth the performances of Ayrad and Emirati Spirit, who both showed promise on their respective debuts.
