WARM SPELL goes one better than last time, to get off the mark in good fashion at Newbury!
The two-year-old son of Mehmas showed promise on debut when coming second at Goodwood last month, and we were delighted to see him build on that today. Overcoming a slightly awkward start, WARM SPELL subsequently settled nicely in midfield under David Egan and responded gamely when asked to quicken, pulling away to win with over a length in hand.
WARM SPELL was a 260,000gns purchase from Yeomanstown Stud at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, and subsequently claims a £20,000 Book 1 bonus for today's win.
Congratulations to owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.

260,000gns purchase Warm Spell (Mehmas) puts his experience to good use, keeping on well to shed the maiden tag at the second time of asking for @DavidEgan99 & @varianstable at @NewburyRacing pic.twitter.com/xqgvrxBsej
